Our wonderful father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Melvin Max Hunsaker, joined his beloved wife, Arlene on March 15, 2014, to start their heavenly journey together.

Max was born November 2, 1934, in Newton, Utah to Melvin Isaac Hunsaker and Dorothy Ione Larsen Hunsaker. He was raised in Honeyville, Utah, graduating from Box Elder High School where he participated on the football team and setting state records in track.

He married his High School sweetheart, Arlene Collings on November 12, 1954. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. From this marriage five children were born.

A cowboy at heart, he loved the western way of life. He worked on a ranch in Yost, Utah. Then he moved his young family to Ogden. Here he learned and mastered the carpentry and cement finishing skills. He worked for Ogden City Street and Carpentry Department. Max retired from Ogden City. He operated his own sawdust company the, "Wagon Wheel Ranch" for many years. Through this company he was able to meet and talk with many wonderful people. He then started his hobby of building barn picture frames and bird houses.

Whether he was coaching a basketball team, a Junior Posse Leader (North Ridge Riders), or being an advisor for the Spikers High School Rodeo Club, he liked working with kids.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in many positions.

He is preceded in death by his wife Arlene, both of his parents, his son Kenneth, his brother Dean and infant twin grandchildren Jessica and Jason.

Max is survived by his children: Connie (Mark) Neal, Kelly (Rickie) Hunsaker, Mike Hunsaker, Barbara (David) Gordon, his brother Verlo (LeAnn) Hunsaker, and his sister-in-law Joanne Ahlmer, seven grandkids and 5 great-grandkids.

The family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Center and Gentiva Hospice for their kindness.

In lieu of flowers please make charitable donations to the Huntsman Cancer Center.
