Merla Tanner Lujan Obituary (1934 - 2015)

Merla Tanner Lujan April 24, 1934 - April 21, 2015 Petals of her life... As beautiful as a rose to see, was her life she lived so gracefully. She made things precious by her touch, Her selfless love lives on in each of us. The petals of her life fell one by one, Each a gift of her heart till there were none. Yet her radiance blooms once again, In fields of Glory with no end. WEST HAVEN - Merla Lujan was reunited with her loving husband, William (Bill) Lujan, of 63 years, on April 21, 2015, surrounded by her family. Merla was born on April 24, 1934, to Stannard L. Tanner and Ida May Fullmer. She married her childhood sweetheart Bill on April 24, 1950. Together they raised their eight children in a loving home. Her biggest joy in life was camping, traveling, and hunting with her family where she always enjoyed listening to scarey stories around the campfire. She enjoyed spending warm Sunday afternoons, going to church with her son; and grandchildren. Her childhood summers were spent in Ferron, Utah on her grandparents farm. Her most precious accomplishment in her life was raising her eight children, and loving her husband. Merla is survived by her daughters, Connie C. (David L.) Stephensen, Debra D. (Pedro) Osuna, Misty (Shane) Burns; sons, William L. Lujan Jr., Richard R. (Katrina) Lujan, David D. (Lisa) Lujan, Alan W. (Diana) Lujan; 20 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Lujan, daughter, Vicky L. Koelliker, daughter-in-law, Tammy Lujan, and two siblings. The family would especially like to thank our brother Alan for taking such special and loving care of our mother in her final days. We also would like to thank Hospice of Utah for the special care they took of our loving mother. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1441 West 4630 South, Taylorsville, Utah.
