Mildred Tucker

–

Layton, Utah

Mildred Juanita (Dickey) Tucker, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2023, with three of her children at her side.
Mildred was blessed with six children: Daniel (Danny) Weldon Payne, Dennis Lynn (Nancy) Grant, Cheryl Lynn Grant (deceased), John Robert (Jr) Grant, Tamara (Tammy) Lee (Walt) Stewart and Eddie Ray Payne Jr.. Mildred (Dusty) was born in Jeffersontown, Kentucky on June 18, 1935 to Francis (Quire-Dickey) Hougarrd and William Dickey (Both Deceased).
She was the second oldest of six children: William Dickey (deceased), Joseph Dickey, Betty (Dickey) Talbot, Lou Dean (Dickey) Albert (deceased), Margaret (Dickey) Parsons (deceased) and Kathi (Dickey) Reedy (deceased). Mildred was married four times during her life (in order): John D Grant (deceased), Eddie R. Payne, Sr., Donnie Bell (deceased) and finally to her soul-mate and true love her of life, Larry Tucker, who not only showered her with love, he showed her a wonderful life as they traveled across the country with Larry's work. Unfortunately, Larry preceded Mildred in death.
Mildred, known to her family and friends as "Dusty" had a difficult life and worked extremely hard at low wages to provide for her family and provided a loving home. She instilled her positive work ethic in all her children, but mostly she gave us family values and the capacity to love. Although she appeared to be a "hard" woman on the surface, due to her own life experiences, she was truly a loving and giving person.
She was very proud to "Ring-the-bell" as a two-time cancer survivor. One of her most terrible tragedies was the loss of her oldest daughter, Cheryl, far too early in life. During her lifetime, her birthday was always celebrated by family and friends as May 18, 1935. Surprisingly, it was not until she was eligible for social security that a close review of her birth certificate revealed her birth date as June 18, 1935. We believe she just really enjoyed having two birthdays a year.
She was also blessed with hundreds of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention by name.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, 2023, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S 1900 W, Roy, Utah. With a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Clearfield Cemetery, 1050 S State Street, Clearfield, Utah.
A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 134, 345 Depot Street, Clearfield, Utah at 2:00 PM following the graveside services.
