Millard Hale Michaelson Obituary (1919 - 2002)

Millard Hale Michaelson OGDEN - Millard Hale Michaelson, 82, passed away at McKay-Dee Hospital of natural causes on Thursday, June 27, 2002. He was born September 21, 1919 to Joseph and Eliza Pearl Hale Michaelson at the family home northwest of Afton, Wyoming. His early life was spent on the farm working with his family. He graduated from Afton Grade School and Star Valley High School. He filled a mission in the Eastern States and later served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Oct 5, 1948 he married Donna Facer in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Twin Falls, Idaho for about three years, moving to Ogden in 1951. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving on the Ben Lomond Sake High Council and later as Bishop of the Ogden 48th Ward, he also served as class instructor to the High Priest Group and as Gospel Doctrine teacher for many years. He was a host at the Ogden Visitors Center for 18 years. He conducted several special programs in the Ogden Tabernacle up until the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife Donna, a daughter Sherry (Tom) Jensen and a son Brent (Debbie) Michaelson, all of Ogden; three grandchildren, Corey Jensen, Nauvoo, Illinois; Stacy Brower, South Ogden, Utah; and Mike Jensen, Ogden, Utah. He is also survived by one brother and five sisters, Willis J. Michaelson, Sandy, Utah; Maurine Anderson, Afton, Wyoming; Bernice Wolfley, Phoenix, Arizona; Helen Stevens, Afton, Wyoming; LaNea Schofield, Blackfoot, Idaho; and Eva Bateman, Bedford, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and nurses that helped care for him during his illness.
