Sab Miyuki Watanabe Obituary (1931 - 2012)

Miyuki "Sab" Watanabe, HONEYVILLE - Miyuki (Sab) Watanabe passed away November 16, 2012 at the Brigham City hospital. He was born April 20, 1931 in his current home in Honeyville, Utah. His parents were Fukutaro (Fred) and Ichi Iriye Watanabe. Sab's parents were immigrants from Japan. They came to Utah in 1913 and 1915 respectively and operated a farm in Honeyville. Sab graduated from Box Elder High School in 1950, where he was a member of Future Farmers of America and the wrestling team. Sab was married to Eleanor (Ellie) Askie. Ellie passed away in 1984. Sab was an active member of the Honeyville Buddhist Church and Honeyville Growers Association. Sab carried on the family tradition and operated the family farm where he grew such products as vegetables, wheat and alfalfa. He also owned and operated his own dairy farm until his retirement. Sab was a good son and cared for his mother for many years. Sab had been an active bowler and participated in many leagues. He loved to go to coffee with his many friends every day. Sab is survived by his sister, Lilly Haramoto of Honeyville and two brothers: Takeshi and Tommy Watanabe of Anaheim California. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Thea and two brothers Katsumi and Hoshito. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 24th at 11:00 am at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, Utah 84302. Friends and family may attend a viewing on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Thanks to all his coffee friends and employees at JC's in Tremonton and JD's in Brigham City for their friendship and considerations. Interment will be in the Honeyville Cemetery.
