Monte Lynn Bosgieter Obituary (1942 - 2008)

ROY - Monte L. Bosgieter died August 30, 2008 at Ogden Regional Hospital after a year-long battle with brain cancer. He was born June 24th, 1942 in Ogden, the only son of Simon Bosgieter and LaVene Southwick. After graduating from Weber High, Monte joined the Marines. He then received a two-year electrical diploma. He married Lynne Gibson, and they had one son, Lance. They later divorced. He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 44 years, retiring as a Supervisor over the F16 Radar Shop. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his annual trip to Yellowstone with his son, and in recent years his grandson. However, his greatest passion in life was doing things with his grandkids. He is survived by his son, Lance (Maresha), of Clinton, grandson and granddaughter, Hunter & Sage, one sister, Sherma (Don) Fernelius and two step-brothers, Randy (Annette) Ashburn, and Greg (Marjorie) Ashburn. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary, half-sister Leticia, and step-brother Dillon "Duke" Ashburn. Family and friends may gather on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West.
