MONTIS LARSON JENSEN

Montis Larson Jensen, 84 of Bear River City, Utah, passed away April 26, 2001 at the Brigham City Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Millville, Utah on November 28, 1916, the daughter of George and Delilah Humphries Larson. Montis was one of nine children, five sisters and three brothers; Venice Pitcher, Salt Lake, UT; Georgia Scofield, Bear River City, UT; Lois Merrell, Roy, UT; Coy Roskelley, Smithfield, UT; Nancy Price, Sacramento, CA; Lloyd Larson, San Jose, CA; Glen Larson, Ogden, UT. One brother, Joe Larson and her special parents, preceded her in death. Montis attended school in Cache Valley.
She had a wonderful childhood, a lot of hard work on their farm and covered wagon rides to their Poke Valley farm. She met and married Elwood L. Jensen, June 26, 1935. They owned several grocery stores and had a store and post office in Bear River City. They worked side by side for 32 years, retiring in 1972. They raised four children; Sharla (Paul) Josephson, Grants Pass, OR; Judy (Robb) Berrett, North Odgen, UT; Brenda (Dick) Wedgwood and Scott (Jamie) Jensen, both of Brigham City, UT. Montis and Elwood loved to dance and taught ballroom dancing. They were wonderful golfers and bowlers, but most of all they enjoyed each other's companionship for 66 years. They were sweethearts to the end. When Montis' health stated to fail, Elwood was always very helpful and understanding. When Elwood's health declined, they shared a room at the nursing home. The family would like to thank Dr. Markeson the wonderful kitchen staff and support and love the nurses and aids showed Mom. A special thanks to Rose who had always been there when no one else could help Mom. She loved her dearly for all these hard years to help Mom endure.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bear River 2nd Ward Chapel,5870 North 4700 West, Bear river City.
Friends may call on Sunday, April 30, 2001from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and at the church on Monday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m.
Interment will be in the Bear River City Cemetery.
