Murr Lavar Brown Obituary (1942 - 2011)

Murr LaVar Brown (68) passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. The son of Earl and Maggie Brown, Murr lived a full and adventurous life with a list of careers that includes being a teacher, engineer, entrepreneur, inventor, writer, and therapist. Murr enjoyed the outdoors, choosing to spend as much time there as he could. He loved to hike and explore new things, as well as write stories, poems, and novels. Murr also has a love for music and even wrote a song that has become a family tradition to sing at Christmastime. Throughout his life, Murr has been a father-figure to youth everywhere he goes and has left a legacy of inspired and improved young men and women in his wake. He is survived by his adoring wife, Cheryl, and his 2 daughters, Kaylynn and Tanaya. A loving and respected father, his progeny also includes his son Michael (deceased), 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-granddaughters. Funeral Services will be held at Friday, March 11, 2011 at Holmes Creek Stake Center, 125 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may gather at the church prior to services for a viewing and memory collage from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah.
