Nelda Jensen

Harrisville, UT

HARRISVILLE - Nelda Jensen, 77, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at Infinia Care Center in Ogden. She was a lifelong resident of Harrisville. During her entire lifetime she could not use her hands. She could not walk. And she could not talk. But she constantly dispensed love and cheer from a reservoir always filled to capacity.

She was born October 23, 1923 in Ogden to Henry August and Annie Almeda Daley Hunter Jensen. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters: Lloyd E. Hunter, Leone H. Haven, Virgil J. Dana, Mary J. Phelps, and Derrill J. Jensen.

She is survived by two sisters-in-law, 13 nieces and nephews, numerous grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews. She loved them all. And all of them remember her special, robust laughter and her upbeat attitude. She enjoyed rides to the mountains, trips to see her relatives and watching the hummingbirds outside her window. On holidays, she always looked forward to gifts of stuffed animals from friends and family to keep her company. For 77 years she was severely constrained. Now she is mobile and free and able to poetically express her feelings. Oh, what a beautiful day!
