Nels Arthur Jacobson, Jr.
ROY - Art, our awesome husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend died peacefully on September 17, 2010, at the George E. Wahlen Veteran's Home in Harrisville, Utah.

He was "terrible good" up to the end.

He was born June 29, 1929, in Wilson Lane, Utah, the son of Nels Arthur Jacobson and Kathryn Rose Sarlo.

He married Julie Ann Moss on July 11, 1952, in West Point, Utah. They were happily married for 31 years until her death in 1983.

He married Delores Thompson on October 25, 1985, in Ogden, Utah. They have been happily married for nearly 25 years.

He attended Riverdale Elementary School, Weber High School, and Weber College.

He was commander of an anti-aircraft gun in the U.S. Army and served in Boston during the Korean War.

Art was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, vintage cars, airplanes, boating and gun collecting. He was a master carpenter and cabinet maker who built boats, campers, and innumerable homes.

He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Montana and especially spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Delores, of Roy; Children: A. Scott (Diane) Jacobson of Layton; Cherylanne (Wayne) Strong of Roy; Kay Lynne Jacobson of Phoenix, AZ; Michelle Alfawakhiri of Draper; Krista (Jared) Rea of West Point; Gene (Sheila) Gillingham of Clinton; MaryJane (Jim) Smith of San Diego, CA.; nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother Robert Neal (Dorthea) Jacobson of West Haven; and one sister Kathleen Hansen of South Weber.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jackie; his wife Julie Ann Moss; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.

Now he knows what is on the other side...

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services.

Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery.
