In Loving Memory,
Nickolas Edward Dammer, 40, entered God's Kingdom on August 1st, 2023, due to an accident at his home in Ogden, Utah. He was born May 29, 1983, to Anna and Terry Dammer. Nick, a kind, loving, and devoted husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, and nephew, is survived by his wife, Whitney Rae Poelman Dammer; parents, Anna and Terry Dammer; brother Christopher Dammer; aunt, Giray (Bill) Berger; grandfather, Gary (Reedith) Dammer; grandmother, Carol Dammer; and uncle, Ronald (Victoria) Dammer.
Nick was born at George Air Force Base hospital in Victorville, California and grew up as a military brat, traveling the world with his parents and brother to bases in California, Utah, and England. He attended elementary school at Hill Air Force Base Utah, Roy Elementary, Clearfield Elementary, RAF Croughton Elementary, England, and Highland Middle School Ogden, Utah. He completed his education at Ben Lomond High School graduating in June 2001. In 2006-2007 Nick attended WyoTech Automotive Trade School in Sacramento California graduating with a degree in High Performance Engine and Chassis Fabrication. Nick began his career working at an auto restoration shop in Ogden, Utah. He later worked for Pfadt Race Engineering in Salt Lake City, Utah where he exercised his superb welding skills fabricating performance parts for Corvettes. After Pfadt went out of business Nick worked at Hill Air Force Base as a sheet metal mechanic and welder. Wanting to seek better welding opportunities, Nick went through several employers until deciding to branch out on his own, creating an exotic metals welding and fabrication business, 22nd Element, from his home.
On the 3rd of July 2010, Nick married the love of his life, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin, Whitney Rae Poelman. Nick and Whitney met in the summer of 2004 at a friend's house party. Nick fell in love with Whitney the moment she walked through the door and told her that she was the "bright shining light" that immediately captivated his heart.
A man of many talents, his attention to detail and ability to lay down some phenomenal "dimes" using his favorite exotic metal, titanium steel, was beyond reproach and in demand by many. Nicks true masterpiece, mistress and pride-and-joy was his "baby", a 1994 Mazda Miata that he customized himself; fabricating and welding the titanium turbo charger and engine plumbing to perfection. Just like his dad, Nick was a major car nut and especially loved Formula D Racing. He was in his element at car shows, meets, and cruising with his buddies. Some of his favorite times were spent taking Whitney on canyon runs and racing with her right by his side. He always wore a huge smile on his face when driving his Miata. Nick also enjoyed BMX racing, radio-controlled-cars, and snowboarding with his wife and in-laws, but most of all his favorite enjoyment was spending time with his beloved wife and family.
Despite his physical challenges, Nick maintained a resilient spirit, never complaining about his discomfort. In the company of others, Nick would sometimes appear reserved, yet he had a remarkable way of expressing himself through his outstanding artistry with pen and ink. His artistic creations were a true reflection of his inner world. In addition to his many talents, Nickolas had a captivating presence that captured the attention of those around him with his handsome looks and gorgeous smile. Nick had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his laugh was infectious to everyone around him. Nick, "Uncle Neck" adored his two nieces Ellie and Macie. He also had an incredible soft spot in his heart for animals and it showed whenever he was with his cats and his beloved, little Chihuahua "Niko".
Nick was a truly kind, supportive, and understanding man whose absence will be forever felt by his family and friends, that love him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew. May he rest in peace with God.
