Nina Lorraine Blickfeldt

PLEASANT VIEW - Nina Lorraine Higginson Blickfledt, age 72, passed away quietly surrounded by her loving family on October 14, 2006.

Lorraine was born on July 29, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jesse Ira Higginson and Nina Guymon. She grew up in the Salt Lake City area graduating from West High in 1952. She married Arlen Christian Blickfeldt on April 8, 1955 in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. She was employed by Mountain Bell as a telephone operator until the birth of her first son. In 1957 she moved to Kent, Washington with her family where she worked various jobs, including many hours of volunteer work. After her husband retired they moved to Pleasant View, Utah where she lived until the time of her passing.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a member of the Pleasant View 13th Ward. During her life she served in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations.

Lorraine was blessed with many visual gifts. She had a beautiful soprano voice, loved creating works of art, and had a passion for gardening where she loved spending her summer hours. She had a particular love for her roses; however, the most important thing in her life was her family. She was always doing things for them that would bring a smile or lighten a heart. Her ability to love them was her greatest gift.

She is survived by her husband Arlen; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Michael and Alicia Blickfeldt and Brady and Julianne Blickfeldt; six grandchildren Kevin, Sean, Deborah, Scott, Stephanie and Gregory Blickfeldt; three step-grandchildren Chase, Jillian and Tanner Snowden; one sister Janice Higginson Ensign; three brothers-in-law Don Jones, Doug Blickfeldt and Ron Stokes.

She was preceded in death by a brother Harold Higginson; sister Flora Covington Jones and sister-in-law Sharon Stokes.
