Nina Beth Harvill Egli Click here to listen to the funeral recording. Nina Beth Harvill Egli returned to the loving arms of Heavenly Father, and many other loving family members, on January 27, 2017. She was born to Ervin Anderson Harvill and Mary Hannah Owens on December 8, 1925 at Little Lot, Hickman County, Tennessee. She attended schools in Hickman County, and graduated with the class of 1943 from Hickman County High School. She later returned to her former high school as a teacher of shorthand and typewriting. She married Harold Robert Egli on July 3, 1951 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Together, they had 7 children: Harold Samuel (Glenda) Egli, II, Susan (Alan) Goddard, Stephen Robert (Farah) Egli, Joy (Kenneth) Bement, David Harvill Egli, Judy (Ron) Huemiller, and Carolyn (Keith) Sandstrom. Coming from both Presbyterian and Methodist backgrounds, they searched for a common religion in which to raise their children. They became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1955 and moved to Ogden, where they made Pleasant View their permanent home, and were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Nina had a love of music and learned to play the piano from a teacher who was schooled at the Julliard School of Music. She received a degree from Peabody College in 1945, and a B.S. Degree from Weber State College in 1969. She was a teacher at Wahlquist Junior High School, and later became a receptionist and customer service representative for Utah Power and Light Company. She served many callings in the LDS church including a mission to Nashville, Tennessee in 2001-2003. The calling she loved the most was singing in the ward choir. She loved quilting, collecting dolls, and doing genealogy. Nina's life was an example of loving kindness, fulfillment of responsibility to family, service to God and fellowman, as well as bearing patiently with her afflictions and enduring well to the end. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and cherished friends for generations to come. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Robert Egli, sisters Mildred McClanahan Rushton, Helen Shepard, Minnie Lou (Melvin) Meador, and brother Arch (Betty) Harvill. She is survived by her children, 24 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. "We love you, Grandma, and will miss you every day." Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11a.m. at the LDS chapel on 900 W. Pleasant View Drive, Pleasant View, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday evening, February 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m. prior to Friday's services. The family cannot express enough gratitude to all who helped give 24-hour care to our mother, allowing her to live in the home her loving husband built, until the end of her life.
