Nina Randall Hartley Obituary (1920 - 2008)

NORTH OGDEN- Nina Randall Hartley passed away at the age of 87 on March 8, 2008 in Brigham City, Utah. Nina was born on May 20, 1920, the second child of David Gilbert and Una Chatelain Randall in North Ogden, Utah. She was raised and attended school in North Ogden and later attended Weber Academy where she played the cello in the orchestra. In 1940 she met and later married the love of her life John "Jack" Alma Hartley in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children: LaMar (Marge) Hartley, Coleen (Jay) Gittins, Shana (Rex) Child, Terry (Lynda) Hartley, Cheryl (Bruce) Bingham, and Carilee (Lynn) Braegger. Nina was a member of the LDS church and served as Sunday School Coordinator, member of the Stake Relief Society Board, librarian, teacher, member of Tri-Valley Singles Choir, and a faithful temple worker in the Ogden Temple. Nina's life centered around her family, 33 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Doris Cox, Lula Bambrough, and LaRue Ellis and brothers Melvin Randall and Gerald Randall. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one grandchild, Brian Hartley and two sisters Beth Kinney and Janet Koch. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Ogden 19th Ward, 1791 N. 600 E. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ogden Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, and Wednesday at the church from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah And Mom, we will remember "We do the best we can!"
