Nora Lee (Sanchez) Puente Obituary (1964 - 2019)

Nora Lee Sanchez-Puente Nora Lee Sanchez-Puente, 55, passed away on October 23, 2019. Nora was born January 27, 1964 in Ogden, Utah to Anselmo and Jessie Padilla Sanchez. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1982 and then went on to graduate cosmetology school. She married Efrain Puente in 1989 and they had three children together. Anyone that knows Nora, even a little, knows music runs through her veins. Anytime a song would come on you would hear her say, "That's my jam!". Any song she would hear, she would know the words, name of the song, artist and the album it was on. Anytime you walked into her house, music would be blasting, and she would be dancing around. Her energy, her love for life and her laugh were all so infectious. She was always the life of the party. Nora truly was one of the kindest and most genuine people you will ever meet and despite her numerous health problems throughout her life she never let her pain and discomfort show through. She remained upbeat and happy, always putting family first. Even with her constant doctors' appointments she always made it to all her kid's activities, maintained a household, made dinner every night and played with her grandchildren. Anyone that was fortunate enough to have known her would agree her generosity knew no bounds. She would give her last penny to a total stranger if she thought they needed it. She was a type 1 diabetic, went through dialysis, came out of a few diabetic comas, had a kidney and pancreas transplant and the list goes on. She made it all look so easy and painless. We are happy she is now at peace and no longer in pain, but we are going to miss her so much. The world doesn't seem as bright without her laughing, singing and dancing. Nora, mom, grandma, aunt, sister, cousin - we love you and we will miss you, but your strength and perseverance will live on through all of us. You were and are an inspiration to everyone that knew you. We know you are dancing around in heaven showing everyone your favorite "jams" and they are so lucky to have you up there! We want to send a very special thank you to the staff at McKay Dee Hospitals' ICU. They took such great care of our mom, as well as us. We honestly would not have made it through this battle without them. They were always so patient and compassionate with all of us. Nora is survived by her three children, Nick (Brittnie) Puente, Efrain Jr. Puente, and Jessica (Mark) Mora, eight grandchildren, Mark Jr. Destin, Aliera, Charleigh, Mia, Tatum, Kyla, Amiyah, and her siblings Joe Valerio, Michael Sanchez, Julie Williams and Gary Sanchez. She is preceded in death by her siblings Irene Orosco, Sam Sanchez, niece Daphne Sanchez and parents Anselmo Sanchez and Jessie Padilla. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah. Mass will be held on Thursday, October 31st at 11:00 a.m. at St. James the Just Catholic Church, 495 N Harrison Blvd, Ogden, Utah, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery, 100 N Monroe Blvd, Ogden, Utah. Unfortunately, there wasn't any type of insurance plan in place. Because of this, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers donations be made to her memorial fund setup at America First Credit Union.
