Norma Pucci Dominguez
March 7, 1934 to July 24, 2012

ROY - Norma Dominguez, a long time resident of Roy, Utah, died at 1:00 a.m. on July 24, 2012, at the Willow Wood Care Center, in Murray, Utah. The cause of death was complications due to cancer.

Born on March 7, 1934, in Ogden, Utah, Norma was the second child of Germano and Gina Pucci. Her father worked for the Southern Pacific railroad for over forty years, and at the time of Norma's birth, the Pucci's were living in Lucin, Utah, a railroad section on the western edge of the Great Salt Lake. Shortly after Norma was born, her family moved to the remote desert town of Battle Mountain, Nevada.
It was in that little Nevada town that Norma met Herbert Dominguez. They were married in 1950.

Eventually, Herbert worked for the SP railroad as well, and throughout the Fifties, he and Norma lived all along the SP line, from Susanville, California to Ogden, Utah. They lived in an outfit cara"a railroad boxcar outfitted like a mobile homea"and when the work crew needed to move to the next location, a work train would simply stop and hookup the outfit car and take it to the next area down the track. "Those were the best years of my life," Norma said. Eventually, they settled down in West Weber, where they raised four boys.

In the winter of 1971, their home in West Weber burned down, so the Dominguez family moved to Roy, and Norma had been living there ever since. Her husband of twenty-five years died in 1975.

A housewife and mother, Norma also worked outside of the home, from house maid to working at the Continental Bakery. Eventually, she got a job at the Army Defense Depot in Ogden, from which she retired.
Norma is survived by her four sons and their wives, Dennis (Cindy), Henry (Patricia), Marcus (Maria), and Matthew (Lisa); eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Blanche Bare. She was preceded in death by her husband and infant son, Anthony.
