Norman Taylor, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on March 3, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on May 28, 1940 in Preston, Idaho where he was raised. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Growing up, he enjoyed running track, performing in musicals, and excelled academically. He was always helping his neighbors and developed a strong work ethic early on in his life. He served in the New England States Mission and enjoyed sharing the gospel and serving in the mission home. This began a lifelong love for serving others.
Norman was sealed to his sweetheart and eternal companion, Dorothy Cooper, in the Logan Temple on April 12, 1963. They have two beautiful daughters and seven grandchildren who were the highlight of his life. They brought immeasurable love, joy, and happiness to him.
He dedicated his life to the service of others. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day where he served in many leadership capacities. He was also an active and loyal member of the Kiwanis Club serving as the Governor for Utah/Idaho. He served for many years as the Key Club Advisor for local high schools and then was appointed the Administrator for Circle K working with universities. In addition, he was an enthusiastic supporter of Weber State University serving on WSU's Wildcat Club Board of Directors as well as a proud sponsor of the athletics' program.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and children, Suzanne Bolar (Robert) and Maridee Harrison (Daniel) as well as his grandchildren. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at the George Wahlen Veterans Home for the compassionate care that they showed him daily.
Norman's love and service to others will live forever in the lives and hearts of all those whom he touched. We will always be grateful for the wonderful memories he created for us, the example that he set, and the never ending love and commitment he showed to us.
