Farr West - Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend left us for a wonderful reunion with our mother on New year's Day, January 1, 2015. We Love him and will miss him terribly.

Norman Earl Wadsworth, 94, was born December 28, 1920 in Hooper, Utah to Earl J. and Vera Fowers Wadsworth, the oldest child with one brother (deceased) and two sisters. He grew up in Hooper attending the Hooper and Kanesville schools and working on the family farm in east Hooper. He had lived in Hooper, Riverdale, Malad Idaho, Roy, Liberty and Farr West.

He was a US Army veteran of WWII. During the landing on the Pacific island of Okinawa he was wounded and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

He was a semi-driver for Scowcroft's Grocery's Co and made weekly grocery deliveries to the American Food Store in Malad Idaho where he met his future wife, Verda N. (Willie) Wadsworth. They were married June 24, 1949 in Evanston, WY. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS, Logan Temple. His wife, Verda, passed away in April 2008 after 59 years of marriage. He was an active member of the LDS Church and has served in many positions; High Priest Group Leader, Sunday School President and Stake Missionary.

Living in Liberty, they enjoyed raising and riding horses in the open spaces and the mountains, sleigh riding with the grandchildren and snowmobiling. He was the President of the Liberty Irrigation Co for 20 years and responsible for the installation of the secondary sprinkler irrigation system in the upper valley. Wadsworth Pond was named after him.

He retired after 31 years as manager of Grand View Acres in Ogden Utah. In retirement he and mom continued to enjoy the horses and the snow and mountain atmosphere of Liberty. After some thirty years of living in Liberty they decided to forego the snow and moved to Farr West.

He is survived by his two sons, Ned and Barbara Willie of Hooper, Glen and Diane Willie of Plain City; 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jean (Dale) Goodwin, Joan (Darwin, deceased) Shaw and several nieces, nephews; 3 children by a previous marriage (2 of which are deceased.)

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Verda; brother LeRoy Wadsworth.

The family would like to express our extreme gratitude to Lloyd and Jackie Allred for their many hours of selfless service and friendship. Also, a special thanks to Teri Gardiner who brought much joy to Norman through her visits.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Westwood Ward, 2123 N. 2000 W., Farr West. Viewings will be held Tuesday, January 6th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday prior to the service at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Plain City Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded.
