Norris Lee Mickelson Obituary (1939 - 2012)

WILLARD - Norris Lee Mickelson, 73, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at his home. Norris was born in Lago, Idaho on February 20, 1939 a son of Harris Antone and Norma Letham Mickelson where he was raised on a Dairy Farm with 10 other brothers and sisters. He graduated from Grace High School. Norris married Nadene Roberts, divorced. He later married Elizabeth Schiess, divorced. Norris married Jean Baird whom he loved dearly. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served as a scoutmaster, Bishopric member, Stake Sunday School President, and numerous assignments. Norris was a dairy farmer; he also worked as a salesman, and had worked at Walmart as a department manager. He gained a love for writing and poetry from his mother at a very young age. Norris has continued to use his gift of writing poetry to express his thoughts and feelings for many occasions. He enjoyed hiking, playing basketball in high school, loved taking pictures of the outdoors and spending time with his family. Norris was especially supportive in attending anything his grandchildren were involved in. Surviving are his sweetheart, Jean Mickelson, children: Ralph (Dixie) Mickelson, CA; Norene Harris, Logan, UT; Thayne (Laura) Mickelson, Nibley, UT; Holly (Doug) Wynn, Lewiston, ID; Geneil (Joedy) Mundell, ID; Bradley (Melissa) Mickelson, MT; 25 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Also siblings: Ardelle Holderness, ID; Daniel Mickelson, ID; Norma Putnam, NM; Aloma Gregerson, AR; Helen Christensen, ID; Nila Panter, NV; and Neta Thomas, ID. Funeral services will be Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Willard 4th Ward Chapel, 80 N. 100 W., Willard, Utah. Friends may call Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City and Friday 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
