Olin Loyce Evans Obituary (1916 - 2014)

Olin L Evans Clinton - Olin L Evans passed into eternity on April 10, 2014, at the age of 97 at his home in Clinton. He was our father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved life and was proud of his Georgia heritage. Olin was born and raised in Jasper County, Georgia, son of Walter and Florence Evans. During World War II he was drafted into the Army Air Forces and was sent to Salt Lake City Air Base for training. During this time, he met his future wife Laura Stevens. They were married in 1942. This marriage was a happy and loving union; blessed, sealed, and sanctioned by the Lord. He worked at the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot, and later retired from Hill Air Force Base as an electrical technician. For 47 years he lived in the home that he built with his own hands. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife. He also enjoyed working with his hands on a variety of projects. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has gone to his Heavenly home leaving his five children: Trudy (Carl) Slater, Linda (Grant) Burton, Walter (Nyla) Evans, Don (Laurie) Evans, and Dan (Jeannie) Evans, 23 grand-children, and 42 great -grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Laura; brothers James, Clyde, Cluie; sister Myrtice, and great-grandchild Richard Blackburn. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clinton 27th Ward, 1780 West 800 North, Clinton, Utah, with Bishop Rick Braegger officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Monday from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., prior to services at the church.
