Ophelia Bowman

Our dearest, Ophelia Lester Bowman, age 97, passed away at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on December 22, 2024.

She was born October 30,1927 in Aubrey, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Modie and Emma Bush.

On April 6, 1957 she married Hester Dallas in Salt Lake City, UT. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1989.

She then married Ronald E. Bowman on August 22, 1996. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2004.

Her hobbies included: sewing, traveling, crocheting, cooking, gardening, listening to blues/ gospel,and spending time with family.

She was a member of Griffin Memorial Church and Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C.

Although she didn't have any biological children of her own, she raised and nurtured Venida Rennea Williams, who preceded her in death on August 29, 2016.

She leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Toshiba Tucker (Cal), Dennis Jones, and Denise Jones. 3 sisters: Irene Burks, Odessa Burton, and Mildred Bush. 11 great grand-children, 6 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ophelia is preceded In death by her parents and 9 siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Ophelia on Friday, January 10th at 4 p.m. at Myers Mortuary of Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT.
