Lando,

As you recall, on April 21, 1992, I picked you to be my son out of all the other babies in the hospital's nursery. You were the best son and that it made it so easy to be your mom. I thank God for the amazing 34 years that I got to spend with you. I am so fortunate to say that I am not only your "mum" but also your best friend. I cherish the time we spent and the memories we made. You will always be my sweet baby boy.

I love that you are so giving. You love so fiercely. You are thoughtful, kind, and considerate. You make friends so easily. And I love that family has always been important to you. You are loved by all of your aunts, uncles, and cousins.
I say all of this in the present tense because you live in us and will always be in our hearts. You are one of a kind.

What will be greatly missed is your infectious laugh, your smile, your easygoing demeanor, your quirky comebacks, and the special nicknames you spontaneously gave your cousins upon greeting them. We will never forget your impeccable Spanish speaking abilities and your questionable stunts/pranks when you got together with your cousins.

What I will miss the most is our weekends together, movies dates, your daily texts to say
"Good morning", and just being in your presence.

Although, you left us far too soon, you made a huge impact. Your loss will be everlasting. Now you will be with your grandfather, Graciano Francisco Rubio and your beloved grandmother, Juana Santillan Rubio. They will receive you with open arms. You will fit right in because you are warm and caring, like the angels in the sky.
