Ogden - Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Orpha Matilda Martinez passed away on July 29, 2015. She was born Sept 29, 1950 in Monero, New Mexico to Adelia Talamante and Isaac Martinez.

She later moved to Utah with her parents and siblings where she received her education. Orpha married Rosendo Horacio Martinez, the love of her life, on June 18, 1966. They were married 49 years and raised 4 wonderful children.

She was employed with the IRS for 27 years and retired in 2011.

She loved gardening; she always had the most beautiful garden. She loved spending time with family and friends. Dancing in her kitchen was also something she enjoyed. The 4th of July was her favorite holiday; she made all that were over at her home stand and sing the Star Spangled Banner. Her house was always filled with family and friends, joy, love and laughter. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Orpha is survived by her husband, Rosendo; children, Monty Martinez, Darlene Martinez (Jason Garner), Deseri Martinez and Fernando Martinez (Lesa); her mother, Adelia; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Della Quintana (Carmel), Ida Garcia (Joe), Sally Mestas (David), Kathy Francis, Pamela Gonzales (Rick), Isabell Gomez (Rudy), Benjiman Martinez, Gary Martinez (Veda), Kelly Martinez (Misty), Philemon Martinez (Debbie) and sister-in-law, Jeanette Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac; sister, Lorraine Villarruel, her brother, Ray Martinez and her baby daughter Felicia.

A Gathering will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2015 followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845Washington Blvd.
