OWEN DELAYNE BUNOT

HOOPER - After fighting a valiant battle against cancer, our beloved husband, son, brother and friend passed peacefully to a well deserved final rest on Thursday, August 9, 2007. We are thankful that he was able to be at home with his wife and mother by his side.

Owen was born in Ogden, Utah, on an exceptionally warm winter day, January 3, 1951, to loving parents, Artell and Delbert Bunot.

On August 26, 1983, he married Dixie Carter. They were married in Morgan, Utah, at a garden wedding.

Owen was able to spend his life working the land, that he loved, and running the dairy that he grew up on as a boy. He worked along with his wife and mother. His drive and work ethic are things he could be proud of. He was quiet in nature, but made a huge impact on people he met.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dixie; mother, Artell; brother, Brent (Maralyn) Bunot, all of Hooper; sister Bonnie (Richard) Savoie, Naf, ID; brother Boyd Bunot, Groveland, ID; sister, Darlene Rathbone, and brother-in-law Jim Rathbone, both of Clinton, Utah, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Delbert Bunot; nephew Barney Bunot, and niece Abbi Montag.

Dixie and Artell would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the many people who started out as Owen's caregivers and ended up as special friends.

Graveside services will be held Monday, August 13, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., at Hooper Cemetery, 5290 South 6300 West. Family and friends may gather Sunday, August 12, 2007, from 6 - 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 South 1900 West and Monday from 11 to 12:15 p.m., prior to the services.
