Ozell Watkins Obituary (1938 - 2004)

Ozell Watkins PASCO, WASHINGTON - Ozell Watkins, 65, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the Avalon Care Center in Pasco, Washington. He was born Jan 1, 1938 in Eudora, Arkansas to Frank and Panelle "Duke" Coffet Watkins. He married Doris Jean Castle on April 1, 1957, they later divorced. He attended Ogden High School, graduating in 1957. He played football, participated in boxing, wrestling and track. After high school he participated as a member of the Ogden Hep Cats boxing team. He served in the U.S. Army and while in the service he participated in many sports as well. Ozell was a member of the Church of God and Christ. He worked at Kaiser Medical for 20 years. He loved to hunt and fish and was very attached to "Rex" his hunting dog. The family would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Herman Love for being such dedicated friends and being with Ozell to the end of his life in Pasco. The family would also like to thank the nursing home for the tender care they gave Ozell. Surviving are his children, Mark Anthony Watkins, SLC; Rhonda (Eddie) Fisher, Layton; Terri Watkins, Ogden; Jason Mark (Alice) Watkins, Ogden; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his step-mother, Ruth Watkins, Ogden; siblings, Freddie Lee Watkins, Flint, Michigan; Mose (Beverly) Watkins, Syracuse; Eddie Watkins, SLC; Jackie (Roberta) Watkins, Harrisville; April Watkins, Ogden; Kevin (Sydney) Watkins, Ogden; Laura Watkins, Ogden; Roberta Uribe, Sacramento; and Wanda Pemtial, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Watkins; sister Mary Lee Watkins; and brothers Roger Martin and Evan D. Martin.
