Patricia O'Brien Vandrimmelen Obituary (1928 - 2017)

Patricia O'Brien VanDrimmelen, our beautiful mother, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2017. Mom was born to W. LeRoy O'Brien and Chloe E. O'Brien in Lewiston, UT. She graduated from Ogden High School and continued her education at Westminster College. She married Joseph Jr. VanDrimmelen on May 20, 1950. Together they raised four children, Jann (Mike) Keefer, Rory A (Belle) VanDrimmelen, Sandra (Randy) Yamasaki, and Joseph P (Cheryl) VanDrimmelen. We shared many happy times together as a family; for us all, the most memorable was Christmas breakfast. These mornings were shared by our family, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many of our friends. This tradition is carried on by each of the children as they continue to enjoy the company of their families and many friends. Mom had a passion for playing the violin from a young age. She followed that passion for several years playing in Shorty Ross' Orchestra at the Berthana Ballroom and smaller venues with her lifelong friend and violinist Valeen. Mom held several jobs in government printing offices. She retired from the Forest Service in the technical printing field. She is joining the love of her life, Joe; her father; mother and eight of her siblings. Mom is survived by her children and one sister, Billie Douglas. She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from Comfort Keepers, Sandra and Julie that provided great care and friendship. We love and miss you tremendously, mom! May God bless you always.
