He was born February 18, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah a son of Alvin Wesley and Leah Brown Hale. He married Lee Hunt on May 7, 1966.

He was a member of the LDS Church, Elks and Eagles

He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Surviving is his wife, Lee; children, Anthony Hale, Salt Lake City; DeeDee Foley, CA; Petie Kay Foley, Ogden; Patricia Ann Jackson, Patrick Nathan Hale, Jr, Alvin Wesley Hale, all of CA; Loree Gene Hale, MO; Joannie LaRay Choules, Ogden; Leisa Marie Ditterlane, OR; many grandchildren; one brother, John Thomas Hale, Salt Lake City.
