Paul Otero, Jr Obituary (1953 - 2004)

Paul Otero, Jr. WEST HAVEN - Paul Otero Jr., 50, our beloved husband, father, son and brother passed away peacefully on July 11, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born on December 21, 1953 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Paul Otero and Olivia Benevidez. He was reared and educated in Las Vegas, Nevada. On October 25, 1980, Paul married his devoted and loving sweetheart of 24 years, Maryee. Paul was employed at FMC Jetway Systems where he worked for 16 years. Paul loved to weld and was the best "back yard" mechanic around. He loved fishing and cherishes all the outings with his friends and family. For those I love, for those who love me, when I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, you must not tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love. You can only guess how much you gave me. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me. If you grieve you must let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part, so bless the memories that lie within your hearts. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. So you can't see or touch me, I'll be near. If you listen with your heart you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear and then when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home". Paul was preceded in death by his grandfather, Maxmillino Otero, grandparents Ramon and Lousia Martinez, and his father-in-law Arnold Christensen. Paul is survived by his loving wife Maryee, their daughter Elizabeth (Chris) Crawford, the loves of his life, his grandchildren Kelsey Lambert and Christopher Crawford, step-son Arnold (Kara) Lambert and grandchildren, Kerysten, Kaylee, Rachael and Brettnee all of Ogden. His parents, Paul (Betty) Otero, Las Vegas, NV; and Olivia Benevidez, Wendell, ID; his grandmother, Shone Otero, Fruita, CO; sisters, Roberta (Elmo) Bentley, Loretta (John) Duran, Veronica (Mark) Steeves, all of Las Vegas, NV; Kathy Barahona, Martha Fox, and Maria (Esteban) Lopez, all of Wendell, ID; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) Christensen, West Haven, UT; sister-in-law, Ruth Mamman, West Haven, UT; and countless aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Harry Senekjian and Cindie Dodenbier for all their devotion and care and all the wonderful staff at the Bonneville Dialysis Center that have taken care of all Paul's needs for the past 14 years. A very special thank you to Dr. Richard Alder for performing countless miracles, and to Vista Care Hospice for making his last hours as pleasant as possible.
