Paul Schrier Obituary (1940 - 2024) - Jurupa Valley, California

Born February 27, 1940, to Lourus and Lisette Schrier in Utrecht Holland. Paul and his family lived in the Netherlands until Paul was 12 years old. At that time the family; Lou, Lisette, Paul and his younger brother Tonny, moved to Morocco in North Africa. While in Morocco Paul had to learn to speak French, a language he loved. The family lived there until Paul was eighteen at which time they immigrated to the United States, being sponsored by a U.S. Air Force Officer with whom his father Lou worked with on the U.S. base in Morocco. They made their new home in Las Vegas, Nevada. On July 16, 1959, Paul enlisted into the US Navy where he served honorably for 2 years and 9 months. Once home, Paul worked as a milkman, Fireman with the Clark County Fire Department, and TWA Airlines ground crew at McCarran International Airport. During this time, he met and married a young Barbra Glass. They had one son in 1970 who Paul proudly named: Paulus Laurentius Schrier II. The couple later divorced. Paul made his way thereafter into the Banking business as a loan officer, working in Las Vegas until he and his young son moved to Orem, Utah then to Salt Lake City. In Utah, a friend of Paul's introduced him to a friend of hers, Lynn Cevering. Lynn became the love of his life on 10/8/1982 when they committed their hearts to each other. Paul, Lynn and young Paulus II made a household in SLC until 1984, after which they together made their way to Southern California to make a new life. Paul and Lynn were married on 7/8/2013 in a beautiful ceremony in Riverside, CA attended by Paul's Mother Lisette. Paul is the last of his immigrant family to pass from this world. On January 5, 2024, Paul left Lynn and Paulus II to join again with his Father, Mother and younger Brother in their just reward. Survived by husband Lynn, son Paulus II, and Paul II's wife Andy Schrier, he will be sorely missed. Services will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024, 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior 10:30-11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
