Paul Eddy Taggart Click here to listen to Funeral Recording On April 5, 2014 Paul Eddy's well fought battle came to an end as he peacefully died, with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was born on September 12, 1950 to Paul Leavitt Taggart and Juanita Eddy. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1968 and later studied Spanish and Anthropology at Weber State University. Paul served an LDS mission in Columbia/Venezuela where he loved teaching the gospel and easily made friends with all whom he met. He served in many different church callings; however his favorite was that of a Scout Master for the Ogden Special Needs Troop 22. He was the first Scoutmaster to take a registered special needs scouting troop to camp. He likewise was very instrumental in helping many of those scouts earn Eagle and Order of the Arrow awards. Paul loved music and wrote over 100 songs throughout his life. He especially loved playing his guitar. Paul also loved to go target shooting with friends and family. Paul is preceded in death by his father, Paul Leavitt Taggart. He is survived by his wife, J. Addie (Thompson); daughter, Melinda; son, Michael; mother, Juanita; brother, Rodney (Ann) Taggart; sister, Cheryl (Mark) Lewis, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. David Tensmeyer, a lifetime friend and Paul's doctor, as well as McKay Dee Hospital, Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation, University of Utah Dialysis Clinics and Inspiration Hospice for their tender loving care. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Mountain Ward, 787 E. 1700 N., No. Ogden. A viewing will be held at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Thursday, April 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Paul requested donations to the Boy Scouts of America Association, 1200 E. 540 S., Ogden, UT 84403.
