Phern Paustian Francis Obituary (1915 - 2014)

Phern Paustian Francis, 98 of Littleton, Colorado, passed away at the Denver Hospice Care Facility on July 4, 2014. Born July 5, 1915 in Elmer Township near Pipestone, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the Emil and Lela Floody Paustian. She was united in marriage to George Roswell Francis on September 4, 1936 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1979. Phern is survived by her son G. Gregory Francis of Littleton, CO; daughter Lela Kay Harris of West Haven, UT; Seven grandchildren: Abagael, Jana, Alexander, Carol, Michelle, Michael, and Sherri. Phern was primarily a homemaker throughout her life and moved around the country with her husband who worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Both had many interesting stories of working and living on different Indian reservations. She was long time snowbird to Mesa, Arizona where she enjoyed being with her longtime friends and relatives from Pipestone. She exercised daily doing bicycling, walking and yoga. She also enjoyed bowling and table pool. Graveside services will be Monday, July 14, 2014 at Brigham City Cemetery, 300 South 300 East, Brigham City, Utah. Friends may call prior to the services from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT.
