Phyllis Ann Van Cleef Obituary (1950 - 2014)

Phyllis Ann Van Cleef, age 63, passed away at her home on 20 June 2014. Phyllis was born on 4 Aug 1950 to Ivan and Edna Russell and has two brothers Roger (Anne) and Gary (Pam) Russell. She leaves three daughters, Rebecca (Brett) Anjewierden, Sara (Steven) Farrer, and Rachael (Steffan) Mackay, and seven grandchildren Seth, Darien, Tyaira, Jeffery, Devin, William, and Charles. A small family viewing was held on 24 June 2014 at Myers Ogden Mortuary. Phyllis was a Vietnam Veteran, proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1969 - 1974 where she achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. She spent 33 years in the federal service, working at Hill Air Force Base as a division secretary until her retirement in 2012. Phyllis loved all things Disney and enjoyed spending time researching and planning family trips. She was an avid reader and was talented at painting ceramics, crafts, and sewing and embroidery. She loved Thomas Kincaid paintings, chicken collectables, and getting great shopping deals online. She enjoyed building collections of all kinds and sharing stories of her adventures and memories with her grandkids. Our amazing mom taught us strength and self-sufficiency and encouraged us every day to reach for our dreams. She was our guiding light, our confidant, our mentor and more importantly our friend.
