Marilyn Walker

PERRY - Phyllis Marilyn Call Walker, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Perry, on Sunday, February 3, 2013. She was born April 13, 1930 in Brigham City to Howard William and Phyllis (Jenson) Call and was the oldest of four children.
She was a 1948 graduate of Box Elder High School. She went on to graduate from Utah State University with a degree in education. After completing her training she taught second grade elementary students for one year. She then served a mission for the LDS church in Tennessee.
On December 19, 1955 she married her eternal companion Reed H. Walker in the Logan LDS Temple. December 2012 Reed and Marilyn celebrated 57 years of marriage.
They maintained and built a family movie theater business which was started by her grandfather Vosco Call.
She served a very successful mission with her husband in Zimbabwe Africa. Within 15 months of coming home they returned to Africa once again to serve in the Kenya mission. They were one of the first missionaries in that area.
Marilyn loved her Heavenly Father and family. Her service to the Lord, family, friends, and community was never ending. Being an active member of the LDS Church she held many positions throughout her life. She remained involved in the community and participated in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Brigham City Ladies Association, Civic Improvement Club, and was a representative of the American Cancer Society.
She was loved by many people. People looked to her for guidance and support. She was never short of ideas or activities for all to enjoy, including playing endless card games until endless hours in the eve and early morning.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Howard William Call Jr., and nephew Scott Horsley. Survivors include her husband Reed Walker, four sons: Mr. Rodney (Cori) Walker; Mr. Douglas (Michelle) Walker; Mr. Jayson (Mary) Walker; Mr. Kerry (Jenny) Walker and three daughters: Mrs. MeriLynn (John) Keyes; Mrs. Patti (Cory) Bennion; Mrs. Shauna (Calvin) Timothy; 31 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Margaret Call; Mrs. Gloria (Phillip) Horsley.
