Ranae E Johnson Mitchell Obituary (1935 - 2019)

RaNae E. Johnson Mitchell, 84, passed away on December 10, 2019. She was born on July 28, 1935 in Preston, Idaho to Ralph Arthur and Bertha E. Esplin Johnson. RaNae attended Ogden city schools and graduated of Ogden High School in 1953. She was a life ling member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a work mission in Washington. She worked at DDO until her marriage to Culus Jones. She moved around until they landed in Denver, Colorado where she worked at Rocky Mountain News doing payroll. She married Gary Mitchell and moved to Everett, Washington where she worked at King Size Photo, doing payroll. After, Gary's death she moved to Layton, Utah to be closer to her family. She loved to go to Lake Powerll and went on a cruise with her sisters and brother in laws, a high point of her life. She loved to read, travel, play bingo with her friends at Fort Lane apartments; play 21, pinochle and bingo with her friends at Chancelor Gardens, and go to Wendover with her three life-long friends. She is survived by her sisters, Alice (Bill) Mitchell, and Linda (Ed) Dangel; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by lifelong friends, Jerine (Lloyd) Barney and Gloria Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Stone; and husbands, Culus "Boots" Jones, and Gary Mitchell; brother's in law, Stephen Nemcek and Rod Stone. A special thanks to Bree and to the dedicated LPN's with Brio Hospice and to the nurses that look loving care of her at Chancelor Gardens. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary of Layton, 250 North Fairfield Road. Family and friends may gather from 10:30-11:00.
