Randy Gene Owens Obituary (1960 - 2008)

Randy Gene Owens "Uncle Buck" HOOPER - Randy Gene Owens, 48, peacefully passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 with his loving wife by his side of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born October 25, 1960 in Ogden, Utah to Eugene and Elva Marie Allen Owens. Randy married Lisa Ann Thompson on August 6, 1988 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Randy attended Pioneer Elementary, North Davis Jr. High, and graduated from Clearfield High School and LDS Seminary. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a High Priest and Sunday School Secretary. Randy achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked construction most of his life, and eventually owned HOS excavation where he worked as long as his health would permit. He enjoyed hunting, camping or anything outdoors. Randy enjoyed his participation at the Roy ALS Chapter, where he enjoyed visiting with his friends, they were a wonderful support to him and his family. He had a heart of gold and spent his life helping others. He enjoyed attending the Temple with his wife and faithful friends. Loving memories of him will be with us forever. He is survived by his wife Lisa, children: Jason Eugene (13) and Brayden J. (12), his parents Eugene and Elva Owens, brothers, Roger (Karleene) Owens and Rex (Lesa) Owens. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, two uncles and two aunts. The family would like to thank the willing hearts of Vista Care Hospice for the loving care they gave to Randy. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper Stake Center 5375 South 5900 West, Hooper. Friends and family may gather on Thursday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
