Ray Conroy Nelson

OGDEN - Ray Nelson, 62, died Monday, August 18, 2003 at his home of a long-term illness.

He was born November 20, 1940 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Elizabeth Galt Nelson and Raymond Nelson. He married Judith Ann Hamaker on August 28, 1963 in Elko, Nevada.

He graduated from Weber High School and later from Weber State University. He was employed at HAFB where he retired. He also worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and Northern Utah Glass. He was loved by all and a very hard workingman. Ray enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He would do anything for anyone, and was a very honest and respected person. He helped and enjoyed remodeling homes for himself and his children. He loved his work and all of his employees and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, mountains and especially his wife of 40 years. His grandchildren were the joy of his life.

Ray was a very strong willed person and always made sure his family and friends were taken care of. We are all going to miss him dearly, and know he is out of pain and with his loved ones.

Surviving are his daughter, Stacy Child; sons, Todd and Paul; grandchildren, Tyson, Tosha, Matthew, Chantyl, Bryden, and Jaden; his brothers, Ken, Tom, Ralph, Jerry, Sheldon, Rocky, Dennis; sisters Judy Ward and Connie Hansen; close friends, Lee and Ken Brown; Gina and Brandy Thompson; Wendy and Darrin Paskett.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, Kevin and Ricky, and his parents.
