R. E. (Reese) Sanders Dixon Lee Obituary (1918 - 2018)

R.E. (Reese) Sanders Dixon Lee January 26, 1918 - March 16, 2018 R.E. (Reese) Sanders Dixon Lee, Age 100, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, departed this life on March 16, 2018 surrounded by family. Reese was born to the late Daniel Sanders and Mary Pickett on January 26, 1918, in Franklin County, Mississippi. She was the oldest of four children. She attended Mississippi Public Schools. In 1935, she wedded Versie Dixon, to this union they were blessed with seven children. Mr. Dixon passed away in 1948. She later married Mr. Earnest Lee, and together they borne two daughters and five sons. Mr. Lee moved the entire family to Utah in April 1953, she had been a resident of Layton nearly all of this time. For twenty years or more, she worked at King and King Law firm, and also at Garden Home Nursing Center in Clearfield. Reese was a hard worker and always did her best. She would always encourage her children to do the same. Mrs. Lee had a green thumb, she loved spending hours working in her yard and garden, all that she grew she would cook and share with others. She enjoyed traveling, but spending time with family and friends gave her and them the most joy. Reese was a faithful member of True Vine Baptist Church. She had strong faith and belief in the Lord. She was a "Mother" of the church. She is survived by her children, Dorothy McWee, Lennell (Martin) Avery, J. L. Dixon, James (Roberta) Dixon, S.L. (Barbara) Dixon, MaryAnn Dixon, Versie Dixon, Jr, Yvonne (Homer) James, Earnest Lee Jr, Curtis Lee, Robert Lee, and Mark Lee and a step-daughter, Semjai Riley. She leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, siblings, daughter (Thelma Lee Holston), son (Michael Steven Lee) and daughter-in-law (Bobbie Dixon). The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lynett & Steven Dorsey, and to other family members that gave loving care during her final days. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit Friday, March 23, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30-12:30 at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Syracuse Memorial Park.
