Reba May Nelson Burgess Obituary (1927 - 2010)

Reba Burgess "Together Again" ROY - Reba May Nelson Burgess, 83, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Peachtree Place Assisted Living. She was born October 16, 1927 in Blue Water, New Mexico to James Mark and Nellie Mariah James Nelson. She married Albert Burgess on June 2, 1944 in St. George, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. She was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the librarian for the Roy 30th Ward for many years. Reba loved to be with her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, bead craft, quilting, sewing, and cross stitching table clothes. She is survived by her children: Ilene Burgess, Tom (Lynnette) Burgess, Jim (LaRay) Burgess, Marilyn (David) Cody, Scott (Sara) Burgess, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Albert. The family wishes to thank Peachtree Place Assisted Living and Hospice for Utah for their loving care of Reba. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Graveside service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the St. George City Cemetery, 700 East Tabernacle St., St. George, Utah.
