Rexeene Starkey Stott Obituary (1942 - 2006)

Rexeene S. Stott BRIGHAM CITY AAA 1/2 Rexeene Starkey Stott, loving mother, grandmother AAA 1/2BamsAAA 1/2, sister, daughter, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on August 26, 2006 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rexeene was born on March 4, 1942 in Clearfield, Utah a daughter of James Hartwell and Mary Dorine Muir Starkey. She attended Davis County Schools and married Robert Myers Stott in Layton on April 18, 1959. They were later divorced, but continued to raise three wonderful children. Rexeene worked at Thiokol and HAFB retiring in 2001 with numerous honors, awards and Patents. She loved working in her beautiful garden and enjoyed crafting amazing treasures for her family. She was always giving to others which is where she found great joy. She was a very devoted grandma and was even known to ATV and swim with the boys. Her family brought her the most joy in life. Her genuine caring and generosity have blessed all. We have been forever touched to have known her, forever complete to have loved her, we can never thank you enough for everything youAAA 1/2ve given and taught us. We Love you Mom. She is survived by her three children, Robert Myers Stott, Jr. (Cari Waite), Logan, UT; and JoDee Stott Valerio (Cary), Pleasant View, UT; three grandsons, James, Eric and Brayden. They were her pride and joy. Also surviving are her father, James H. Starkey, Meadow, UT; her siblings, Thomas L. Starkey (Jolene), Layton, UT; Jay Starkey (Janice), Roy, UT; Tamalee Draper, Layton, UT and Brad Starkey (Maxine) Marion, VA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, sister, Marilyn Starkey Anderson and her grandparents, Thomas and Carilla Harris Muir. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Syracuse City Cemetery.
