Rhea Woodyatt Dokos

WILLARD - Rhea Woodyatt Dokos, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Monday, October 8, 2012, at home from natural causes. A lifelong resident of Willard, Rhea was born to Robert P. Woodyatt and Gladys Ellen Brunker.
Rhea always lived within a mile of her birthplace and spent her early married years as a stay at home Mom, a task she performed proudly. She was an excellent homemaker, gardener and cook.
Blessed with God given musical talents, she was an accomplished singer and self-taught organist and a member of the LDS Church. Rhea and her brother Don, sang together in many talent shows, contributed the music at many funeral services, and sang on the radio for Ted Mack. She was also a member of The Hot Flash Tap Dancers and performed with the group for many years in northern Utah. She was also an artist and painted numerous local scenes, both commercially and for personal enjoyment. Her skills came easily to her and were enjoyed by family and friends.
Known for her quick wit, friendliness, and sense of humor, Rhea was well know locally as a "character" who was immediately a friend to every stranger and who could always bring laughter to a group of friends or strangers. Almost every child that grew up in Willard in the 1960's remembers her characterization of the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz on Halloween night as she greeted each child who came to trick or treat. On occasion and later on Halloween night, several older children ran screaming down the sidewalk while scattering their treats after Rhea jumped out of a tree as the "wicked witch".
Rhea is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Don and Ken Woodyatt, sister Iris Woodyatt Wood and husband Sam Dokos, Jr.
She is survived by three children: sons Chris Robin (Jelean) Dokos, Steven Sam (Christine) Dokos and daughter Susan Dokos Cole, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Curo Hospice Services and the wonderful staff who assisted Rhea and the family through the past several months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Curo Home Health & Hospice Services, 5801 Fashion Blvd., Suite 220, Salt Lake City, UT 84107, in Rhea's memory.
Services will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City. Friends may call on Friday from 10:30 to 11:40 a.m. at the Mortuary.
Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
