Rheta Eileen Phillips Obituary (1937 - 2012)

Rheta Eileen Phillips ROY - Rheta Eileen Phillips, 75, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born September 23, 1937 in Great Falls, Montana to Harold Wilford Paul and Catherine Agnes Garde. Rheta grew up in Power, Montana and attended CM Russell High School. She married Hugo Walter Phillips October 15, 1955. He passed away 2005. Rheta survived breast cancer, twice, and kept her sense of humor throughout. She will be remembered for her distinct laugh; It was contagious. Rheta was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She worked for the phone company and retired from IRS, still enjoying the company of the lunch group well into her retirement. She became PTA President, because she had the most kids in the school. She encouraged her children in all their interest, still hangs our pictures on the fridge. Rheta loved swimming, traveling (loved Ireland) cooking, reading, her friends, collecting chickens and cross stitching. Her loving swimming group was a joy to her life and she will forever cherish their friendship. She is survived by her children: Vickie, Richard (Barbara), Edward (Lori), Toby, was a grandma to Katie, Clifton (Jodi), Paul, Trevor, Carly, Jessie and Marshall. She was great-grandma to Liyla, Breckon and Baylen. Also surviving her brother, Bill. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, brother Jonesy and sister Bebe, grandsons Nate and Jonathan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. A viewing will be held Wednesday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Cremation under the direction of Myers Roy Mortuary.
