RICHARD CLARENCE 'RED' DAVIS
ROY - Richard Clarence 'Red' Davis died Sunday, August 1, 2004.
He was born October 20, 1934 in Logan, Utah.
He married Esther Gittins of Smithfield, Utah on June 17, 1953 in the Logan Utah Temple. They were together 48 years until Esther died in August 2002. Now they will be Together Forever.
Dad had a strength of his convictions and always did what he felt was best no matter what anyone else said. He supported two sons while serving their missions and faithfully wrote to each son every week. He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many different leadership and other various callings during his life. He was a member of most of the Syracuse Wards and finally the Syracuse 9th Ward, Syracuse Utah Stake.
Dad survived 17 heart attacks and three strokes.
He is preceded in death by his oldest son Richard Kelly Davis (June 2000), his wife Esther Davis (August 2002) and his youngest son Zachery Lynn Davis (January 2004).
Surviving sons are: H. Brian (Cindy) Davis, Camas, WA; Randy (Luwen) Davis, Roy, UT.
The family would like to thank all those who helped care for Red in the last few years of his life. Dad was known for his block parties called burns, also he was known as President of the Burn Haven Mission and the Burn Miester. Many departing and returning Missionaries had Farewell and Return Home burns with Red. When they married he held Reception Burns which the Burn Meiser called Funerals. Dad maintained his sense of humor to the very day he died. Finally he is with his Eternal Companion as he desired. He will be greatly missed by his sons and all who knew him. Thanks for all the great memories!
