Richard David Gillihan "Gillie" "Gone Fishin" Click here to listen to Funeral Recording Our beloved husband, daddy, Poppy, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, Richard David "Gillie" Gillihan, passed away peacefully, with his family surrounding him, on September 30, 2014. He was born on October 31, 1937 in Ganette, Idaho to Virgil L. and Gloria Williams Gillihan. He married his lifelong companion, Betty L. Turner on July 8, 1961 in Malad, Idaho. He and Betty were the proud parents of 5 children: Ron (Lisa) Montoya, Brenda (Chuck) Nackos, Barbara Madsen, Bambi (Blaine) Cutler and Adam Rathbandit; and 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren plus. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman from 1954 to 1958. He worked at W.R. White, and as an Aircraft mechanic at HAFB, he also worked for Utah Division of Family Services. After he retired he worked as a cashier/clerk for Fred Meyer. Gillie loved fishing, camping with his family and especially working in his garden. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 54+ years; children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and sisters, Nadine and Nancy. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathy, Shirley, Darlene and Irene; and brothers, David (Bill) and Albert; granddaughter, Maylynn Lucas and great-granddaughter, Samantha Hilliard.
