Richard C Martinez

Richard C. Martinez of Ogden passed away on October 22, 2013. He was born November 23, 1940 in Paradise, Utah the son of Martin J. and Grace Cortez Martinez. Richard attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ben Lomond High School.

He married the love of his life, Marcella Martinez in Ogden on Dec. 3, 1960.

He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses all his life, a student of the Bible, and Evangelizer of the Good News of Gods Kingdom; teaching people the love of God's Word, the Bible and God's name. Jehovah and the hope of a Paradise Earth - Rev. 21:3-4.

He enjoyed fishing, painting, woodwork and spending time in the preaching work with his brothers and sisters and attending Assemblies of Jehovah's Witnesses.

I will miss you so much. There will not be a day that goes by that I won't think about you and all the good memories that will carry me through all the coming days. Until we meet in the Paradise Earth soon to come, see you soon. I love you, your wife Marcella.

Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marcella; his three sons, Simon Enrique (Leti), Sam (Amy) and Eric D. (Tammy); three grandchildren, Sergio (Sanicia), Max and Mikaela Martinez. Also survived by his siblings, Stephen (Virginia), Madeline (Edward) Sandoval, David (Cyndy), Mickey (Frances), Grace (George) Brunner and Isaac. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Grace; brothers, Martin, John and Orlando and sisters, Isabel and Juanita.

Special thanks to all his brothers and sisters who came to visit him and to those who prayed in his behalf.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 333 West 7th Street.
