Our amazing Rich passed away on June 25, 2015. He was the eldest brother to his 4 siblings that he loved, cherished, served and protected. He was born on May 1, 1979 to David and Melanie Rigby McKenzie in Layton, Utah.

Rich married the love of his life, Amy Matthews on October 13, 2012. Their marriage was later solemnized on October 19, 2013 in the Logan LDS Temple.

He was a graduate of Fremont High School. He received his Bachelors Degree from Weber State and Utah State University in English and Communication and Speech Disorder and a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Utah State University.
Rich is an athlete, competitor and a gentle soul. He is a right hand companion and dearest friend to his parents. He is a loyal and choice husband to his eternal love, Amy, and most recently through the miracle of foster care he became a father to a very special young boy.

Rich is famous for his beautiful smile, his bright blue eyes and his loving heart. He gently loved and touched the hearts of all those he met and lifted them higher. Rich is a lover not a fighter. Volumes could be written about this wonderful man, ask anyone who knew him to share his story and you will be blessed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy; parents, David and Melanie; Brothers, David (Shelly) McKenzie II and Daniel (Judy) McKenzie; sisters, Megan (Josh) Lea and Kellie (Andy) Tolton; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and Amy's family who adored him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Deane Rigby.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Ogden 3rd Ward Chapel, 15th and Washington. A viewing will be held on Monday, June 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd and prior to services at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
