Richard LeRoy Scott

CLEARFIELD - Richard LeRoy Scott, 68, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away November 5, 2001. The oldest of nine children, he was born to Alvin Frank Scott and Louise Jane Wolter in Pioche, Nevada, March 26, 1933.

He spent his early childhood in Pioche before the family moved to Salt Lake City area where he finished his education, graduating from Cyprus High School. After high school, he joined the army. He spent a year in Korea during the war. Afterwards he attended BYU, graduating in 1960. In 1962, he met and married Nancy Lee Schofield. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple in July 1963.

His great love was doing genealogy, reading, working in his yard, and serving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a strong, unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ. He retired from Hill AFB in 1993.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughters Eileen (Rob) Carter and Angeleen Kildare; son Daniel Scott, four grandchildren, Natasha, Whitney, Cassandra, and Taylor Ryan Carter; sisters Lorriann Fisher and Hertha (Rick) Bieschke; brothers Eugene (Linda) Scott, Scott (Gayle) Adams, Darrel (Judy) Scott, John (Cheryl) Scott, and Cory (Jackie) Scott, and brother in law Carl Bellonzi. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Coral Bellonzi. We will miss our association with Richard, to feel his love; we look forward to being reunited in the future.
