Robert Baugh Bradshaw Click here to listen to Funeral Recording Robert Baugh Bradshaw, 97, of Pleasant View, Utah passed away on December 15, 2014. He was born February 25, 1917, in Wellsville to Robert Leatham and Ellen Baugh Bradshaw, who operated an 80-acre farm. There he learned to work in the sugar beet fields at the age of 5. He married Ila Gessel Sept. 30, 1939, in Logan, and their vows were later solemnized in the LDS Logan Temple. She passed away on April 1, 2006. He attended Wellsville elementary and junior high schools and graduated from South Cache High School in 1935. He graduated from Utah State University in 1941. He was a high school basketball coach and physical education teacher for three years and was then drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. After basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif., he served in the Philippines, Saipan, Guan and Tinian. He was extremely proud of his military service. When he returned home, he again attended USU and achieved a master's degree. He taught school for 31 years in several parts of Utah - Orderville, Castledale, Lewiston, Richmond, Smithfield and Ogden. After retiring from school teaching he and his wife owned and operated the Millstream Motel in Ogden for seven years. After retiring from the motel, he volunteered for 28 years at a food bank in Ogdena"until he was 92 years old! He continued to be active by growing a large garden every year, and raising chickens and rabbits. He also spent his time building footstools and children's couches and chairs. He was always a part-time farmer, raising popcorn, beans and cattle. He was a member of the LDS Church and a high priest in the Pleasant View 12th ward and had fulfilled many callings throughout his life. He is survived by his children, George Lynn (Karen) Bradshaw, Palo Alto, Calif., Don Alan (Gayla) Bradshaw, Clearfield, Margo (T. Jackson) Smith, Willard and Jon Bart (Velma) Bradshaw, Winthrop, Wash. Three sons are deceased: Robert Sydney Bradshaw, Dale Lee Bradshaw and David Rex Bradshaw. He has 30 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Wayne Bradshaw of Washington Terrace and one sister, Rose Anderson of Hyrum. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Pleasant View 12th Ward, 900 W. Pleasant View Drive. A viewing will be held on Friday, Dec. 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Pleasant View 12th Ward Chapel and Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Wellsville Cemetery.
