Robert Deloy Brown Obituary (1931 - 2024)

Robert Deloy Brown February 10, 1931 - April 28, 2024 Our beloved Robert (Bob) Deloy Brown returned home to our loving Father in Heaven at his home with his beautiful wife by his side on April 28, 2024. Robert was born in Bates, Idaho on February 10, 1931, to George Deloy and May Elizabeth Kunz Brown. He grew up in Victor, Idaho with his sisters Delores and LaRee and brother Val. In 1949 he graduated from Teton High School where he played football and basketball and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. This is where he met his sweetheart Norma June Child. On June 28, 1950, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple and had three children Tamra Lee (Potokar), Robert Blair and Paul Kay Brown. They made their home on Jefferson in Ogden, Utah. After the passing of June, Robert married Monica Sue Hubert Parker in 1983. She had four children Steven Brad, David Brian, Russell Howard, and Laura Kay Parker Graves. Robert was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he faithfully served in many callings. Robert worked for 28 years and retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a favorite mail carrier on Hill Air Force Base. He was proud of the fact that he had to walk his long routes to deliver the mail. He was a talented carpet layer who spent countless hours laying carpet at nights to provide for his family. He was an adoring husband and dearly loved Monica, whom he nicknamed "Sweetness". Robert and Monica showed their love and devotion to their grandchildren by attending many of their activities. Robert was charismatic, liked some good gossip, had to be in-the-know, loved to tease, and greet people with his special handshake. He often made-up funny nicknames for all of his grandchildren. Grandpa Brown loved his family dearly and cherished having family parties at his home in Mountain Green, Utah. Robert and Monica delighted in chatting and laughing weekly via Zoom with Val, Laura, Jerry and LaRee. He also looked forward to his weekly card games with his close neighbors and friends. His other hobbies included being on a bowling league, traveling, playing golf, fishing, and going out to enjoy a good meal. He was a regular at Chuck-A-Rama where he boasted the restaurant had a reserved table for him. Robert worked extremely hard his whole life where he was known to carry rolls of cash with rubber bands around them. He was very giving and kept close track of every family member and loved to brag about his family. Robert will be dearly missed by his entire family. He is preceded in death by his parents Geroge Deloy and May Elizabeth Brown, his first wife Norma June Child, his sisters Delores Rae Young and LaRee Carothers, his daughter Tamra Lee Brown Potokar and stepdaughter Laura Kay Parker Graves. Robert is survived by his wife Monica Sue, his sons Blair (Dawn) Brown, Paul (Kathleen) Brown, Steven (LeeAnn) Parker, Russell (Terry) Parker, Rick Potokar (son-in-law), brother Val (Laura) Brown, 20 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Mountain Green Enterprise Chapel, 2755 W. Old Hwy Rd in Morgan, UT 84050. Roberts Viewing will be located at the same location prior to services from 9:00-9:45 am. Interment will be at Mountain Green Cemetery. Grandpa was money conscious; he would not want you to "waste your money on flowers". So in lieu of flowers, take your family out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Chuck-A-Rama, in his memory.
