Robert James Poe

Riverdale- Robert James Poe passed away on January 9, 2010 with his family at his side. He was born on May 27, 1938 in Glendale, California to T.G. and Helen Graham Poe. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1957 and joined the Air Force in 1958. Robert married Margie M. Nielsen on July 16, 1960 in Blackfoot, Idaho.

Robert worked at Custom Bodyworks of Blackfoot, Ogden Ironworks and retired from Hill Air Force Base as a sheet metal worker in 1994. He was a member of the Ogden Seventh-Day-Adventist Church.

Robert is survived by his wife Margie; daughters Ronda (Rod) Rodriguez, Lana (Steve) DeLion; and son Steve Poe; grandchildren, Amber Gallegos (Louis Donovan), Anthony Rodriguez, Carly and Kyle DeLion, Kailey and Ashley Poe; great-grandsons, Gavin and Gauge Donovan all of Ogden. Also survived by brother Donald (Debbie deceased) Poe, Lucerne Valley, CA; sisters Jean (Nick) Brog of Nampa ID and Ginger (Frosty) Merkley of Las Vegas NV; brothers-in-law Ron (Vickie) Nielsen of Plain City and Doug (Garland) Nielsen of Nampa Id and many nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank Dr. Dwight Rigby, Dr. Sharman Sutherland and Hospice of Utah - Lisa, Brett and Stephanie for all of Robert's care.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., Ogden.

Cremation under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Ogden.
