Robert Rowe

OGDEN - Robert Reginald Rowe, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2004, at his son's home, Doug and Karen Rowe, in West Point, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 7, 1921 in Eureka, Utah to Evelyn and Nellie Pendray Rowe. He married Jean Siler and they later divorced. He married Lena Eleanor Laughter on September 17, 1951; their marriage was solemnized on February 5, 1975 in the Ogden LDS Temple; she passed away February 23, 1996. He married Gayle Olsen Noel on November 29, 1996; their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, AZ LDS Temple.

Robert was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific.

He was a member of the LDS Church, serving as high priest in the Foothills Ward and 2nd counselor in the bishopric of the Farr West Ward. He and Eleanor served an LDS Special Service Mission in the Mt. Ogden Stake. He loved to fish and hunt, and he enjoyed woodworking.

Robert's profession was a meat cutter and he worked for many stores, retiring from Harmon's. He loved people and that love was returned by many, many friends. A lot of his customers followed him where he worked. In the last eight years, he enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada and old Mexico.

Surviving are his wife Gayle; children, John Allen (Jann) Rowe, Tustin, CA; Robert S. (Penni Ruth) Rowe, Franklin, TN; James Scott (Carol) Rowe, West Weber, UT; Larry Douglas (Karen) Rowe, West Point, UT; Jeffery Lynn (Lori) Rowe, Roy, Utah; Jolene Eleanor (Eddie) Lomax, Hyrum, UT; step-children, Sydney Smith, Pleasant Grove, UT; and Lewis Winn, Albuquerque, NM; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; and one grandson.

A special thanks to his son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Karen, for their loving care given to Robert during his last days.
